Sing Out Cambridge – Code of Conduct for all members
Sing Out Cambridge is open to people who are over the age of 18 and -define as belonging to the LGBT+ community. This includes those who are questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
Every member of Sing Out Cambridge has a right to access the group without fear of discrimination, abuse, harassment, breach of confidentiality or any other malicious behaviour. The code relates to every part of Sing Out Cambridge, including weekly rehearsals; one-off events and performances; the mailing list and the Facebook group.
Every member of sing out Cambridge has a right to participate in the choir regardless of musical ability or previous musical experience and should be able to participate without fear of judgement.
Members are expected to treat each other with respect at all times, and across all modes of communication. This includes the use of the correct pronouns for all individuals. Abusive and discriminatory behaviour are unacceptable.
Members are expected to treat others’ personal and identifying information such as names, photos and contact details with confidentiality, unless the person concerned has agreed their details can be shared. Consent must be explicit and not assumed.
The code also applies to family members and significant others.
If members do not abide by the code of conduct, they may be asked to leave the group.
