About us
Who Are We?
We are Sing Out Cambridge, Cambridge's LGBT+ Community Choir. Since forming in January 2017 the choir has gone from strength to strength. Not only have we become a confident choir, we have also developed a strong community vibe, with many members saying that rehearsals are the best part of their week.
Our Mission
We are an LGBT+ community choir for all members of the LGBTQ+ community who are over the age of 18.
We usually sing choral arrangements of popular songs in 2, 3 or 4 parts, but you don’t have to be able to read music to join us. There are no auditions for the choir.
Singers are free to join at any point in the year and just catch up as we go along. We run alongside the school terms: our next term will start in mid September 2024 through to Christmas.
We usually ask for a donation to contribute towards the cost of room hire, but if you are coming along for the first time then you don't have to pay.
We try and plan one or two performances per term, but performing is always optional.
As a community choir, we really encourage our singers to get involved in the running of the choir, so members are very welcome to lead a warm-up, a song or organise a social event, or anything else. We are always open to suggestions.
Finally, we are a very relaxed and friendly group, and we meet up for social events from time to time, so the choir is an excellent way to get to know other members of the LGBT+ community in Cambridge!
